The thrill of a bargain...

There's something to be said for the elated feeling a fantastic sale gives. I was recently on what started as a birthday gift shopping expedition but somehow turned into a ooo I found sexy panties on sale journey. The guilt quickly left me as I heard the sales lady in passing say, "Those panties are all $1.99". Forget a "Fistful Of Dollars" (bad movie reference!) I had a fistful of panties! lol. Part of me wanted to just take the entire bin to the register and proceed to check out but I kept a little composure and left a few for the next lucky lady. -Jax

What to wear ....what to wear??...

A little play on words with my newest concoction for the website. I inadvertently came across some separates that I thought would make great outfits and thought to myself...Hmmm... and then the idea of "Pair it" came to be. Yes, I know the fruit is spelled "Pear". The Biggest Loser??...

At first I was a big fan of the TV show The Biggest Loser, but the more I thought about it I got the feeling it wasn't as liberating as I first envisioned it. I got to thinking about how we would never see the opposite situation on television. Let's put some anorexics on a TV show and make them gain weight for prizes. Oh no...that wouldn't fly would it? It's just another pocket lining agenda for television networks putting us at the center of their dog and pony show. I really feel torn on this show. On one hand it is motivational but on the other hand I really feel insulted. Just something to think about ~Jax
 

?Maxi Dress?

As I was updating the On The Town page, I was updating Lane Bryant's section and found a few great looking maxi dresses they currently have for sale. Now, I've seen these so called maxi dresses around for the past month or so at various stores and I am instantly drawn to them like a bee to a flower. I guess I had a blonde moment because I was clueless to the word "maxi" dress but alas it is just the opposite of a mini dress! Mystery solved. If you are a fan of romantic styles I really recommend a maxi dress this summer. With the perfect sandals or wedges...GORGEOUS! ~Jax

...and she wants you to have this dress! OMG I adore this dress from IGIGI. So flowing and feminine. It's got that carefree but sophisticated look to it that I just love. It even has the wide straps so you can wear a great fitting bra underneath. Tried and true beauty...

Maybe I'm just abit old fashioned but normally when it comes to beauty products I stick with the simple things like Noxzema or whatever samples I may have on hand . I normally don't splurge on cosmetic stuff but I admit, I got sucked into all the Bare Minerals craze. So, I dragged my friend over to ULTA and they gave me the little trial makeover with the mineral powders.

A good friend will always tell the truth, so I asked her if it really made me look any different. She just kind of stood there with a tilted head and surprisingly insisted how great it looked. I ended up buying the Bare Minerals starter kit and I love it. You can buy it online at Beauty.com. Just make sure you get the right complexion color. They also have eye makeup kits too. Maybe some day when I have spare cash I will give them a whirl too. ~Jax

Avenue Cotton Hi Cut Panty Womens Plus Size

Plain Jane Panties...

I was rummaging through my panty drawer the other day and just knew I had to replace some of the comfy faves because they had seen their day. I admit I love plain jane cotton panties to lounge around in. My previous addiction was the Fruit of the Loom cotton boyshorts. I still love them but omg I found the new holy grail in comfy cotton panties.

Avenue.com sent me a coupon for a free cotton panty. Good ploy to get me into the store. It worked...you marketing geniuses you!! They had all kinds of cool patterns and colors to choose from. They even have different styles including brief, hi cut (my fave) string bikini and thong!
I just checked online with them and it looks like they are currently out of the fashion patterned ones. (NO! I did not buy them all ...I swear!! LOL) But they still have the basic colors available. I really do recommend this cotton panty. I give it an A++. Keep checking back with them online for the patterned ones or make a visit or call to your local Avenue store.  ~Jax
 

Birthday suit Anxiety?

Does the thought of being in the buff give you a case of the anxieties? Don't worry, you aren't alone. I was watching How To Look Good Naked on TV last night. I had seen it awhile back but hadn't had the chance to tune in lately. I love the positive message this gives to all women, not just full figured women.

It's all about being comfortable with who you are and the common misconceptions we have about our own bodies. The episodes are all online & iTunes for you to watch anytime, along with fashion tips for all types of figures! (I say...wear what you love).
